Miraculous Ladybug Season 1 Episode 17 Antibug
Ladybug’s number-one fan, Chloé, tries to help the superheroine capture a villain’s akuma. Ladybug refuses to listen to Chloé’s advice and the villain escapes. Ladybug and Cat Noir finally manage to stop the villain, but an argument breaks out between Ladybug and Chloé, who’s furious about getting the cold shoulder from her idol. Disappointed, Chloé gets akumatized into Antibug, an evil twin of Ladybug with the same powers. And Antibug is determined to take revenge on Ladybug for making her suffer such humiliation. To stop her, Ladybug and Cat Noir do some investigating at the Grand Paris, a luxury hotel owned by Chloé’s father. They just might learn a thing or two about Chloé and Sabrina…
Episode Transcript:
Scene: Chloe’s room. Chloé searches the closet for something to wear
Chloé: (to herself) That’s nonsense! Ugh, I have nothing to wear! (points to pink outfit) This one is too pink! (points to a pair of red heels) These are from last season! (takes a pair of brown ankle boots in her right hand while holding another pair of red heels in her left) They don’t cost nearly as much. (throws shoes away) And these are never in season! Oh, I hate all this! (hears broken glass) Hmm? (looks around her room, still holding the red heels) Is anyone there? Someone?
(Chloé looks into her bathroom. Suddenly, an invisible person throws a bottle of cosmetics at her. It pushes all the cosmetics to the floor before pushing Chloe’s bed. She then picks up Chloé’s shoes and runs to the balcony. The invisible person laughs evilly)
Chloe: Hey, wait! (an invisible person drops the boots and lands somewhere near the Agreste mansion) Get back, boots! It’s not true, I love you!
Scene: Miss Bustier’s classroom. The whole class is working on something with a tablet
Marinette: Hey, look at Chloé. (she and Alya turn to see Chloé feeling exhausted and almost falling asleep)
Alya: That girl is a total rag.
Marinette: Maybe she misses her BFF?
Alya: Sabrina has been absent since yesterday, huh? (Miss Mendeleev silences them. Both Marinette and Alya giggle apologetically. Suddenly Chloé’s hair is pulled.)
Chloe: Ow!
Mrs. Mendeleev: What is it, Chloé?
Chloé: Someone was pulling my hair! (Mrs. Mendeleev looks at Mylène)
Mylène: I didn’t, Mrs. M.
Chloé: It wasn’t her, it’s some invisible mystical being. Like an elf. Or a unicorn without a horn. (Everyone in the class starts laughing at her)
Mrs. Mendeleev: Silence, everyone! Eyes on your papers!
Chloé: (An invisible presence grabs Chloé’s purse and tries to take it off her) Oh, it’s happening again. Oh no! (falls down)
Mrs. Mendeleev: Chloé, sit down!
Chloe: I can’t! (an invisible person repeatedly beats her with her purse) My purse is beating me! (Adrien and Marinette see this strange situation)
(Chloé screams and runs to the corner of the classroom. An invisible person then picks up Jule’s pen and throws it at Chloé. Several more pens are thrown at Chloé, so she runs down the stairs and continues to scream)
Mrs. Mendeleev: Chloé, we don’t run in class! Go back to your seat!
(Chloé is about to do this when an invisible presence takes the sunglasses from Chloé’s head and fights Chloé over them. The presence leads Chloé to Miss Bustier’s desk. She leaves the sunglasses and pulls Chloé’s hair instead)
Mrs. Mendeleev: Calm down, Miss Bourgeois.
(The class laughs at her as Chloé flees the room, waving her arms in front of her to chase away the invisible presence. The invisible presence chases after Chloé, she moves Adrien’s tablet to Nino, who stops Adrien’s tablet from moving. The door slams shut behind her)
Marinette: (whispers) Tikki, we have to get out of here.
Adrien: Miss, please, I have to go to the bathroom. (leaves the classroom) Thank you. (closes the door)
Marinette: Me please?
Scene: Bathrooms. Marinette walks into the girls’ bathroom where she sees crude drawings of Chloé and several instances of Chloé’s name being scrawled on the stall walls and doors.
Tikki: Looks like someone’s got it for Chloé.
Marinette: Huh, the hardest part will be figuring out who doesn’t.
(Suddenly, Marinette’s cell phone rang. In the classroom, including Mrs. Mendeleev’s, the phone also rang to their confusion. In the boys’ bathroom, Adrien scrolled through his phone to see a set of pictures of what happened to Chloé)
Adrien: Something really strange is happening.
Marinette and Adrien: (simultaneously with their respective Kwas) Time to transform!
[Transformation Sequence]
Marinette: Tikki, watch out! Yeah!
(Marinette transforms into Ladybug)
Adrien: Plagg, claws out!
(Adrien transforms into Cat Noir)
(Marinette and Adrien transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir)
Scene: Le Grand Paris. André Bourgeois holds a press conference
André: Damaging my daughter’s reputation is like tarnishing the reputation of the mayor of Paris, er, which is me. And an attack on Chloé is an attack on Paris.
(Ladybug and Cat Noir jump after him)
Cat Noir: We’ll find the culprit, Mr. Bourgeois. You have my word.
(Cuts to hotel in Chloé’s room)
André: Chloé, my dear. We have special guests for you.
Chloé: (appears behind one of her couches) Ladybug! (runs and hugs Ladybug) I knew you’d come to save me! You know, considering how good friends we are!
(Cat Noir opens Chloé’s closet door in her room to investigate while Chloé keeps taking pictures of Ladybug)
André: I have to call all the biggest designers. Can you imagine? Does my daughter wear clothes from a department store? How humiliating.
(Ladybug sighs in annoyance. She then turns on Chloe’s TV and pans four sections of the screen to various locations in the hotel where an unseen presence might be hiding)
Ladybug: Have you had any arguments with someone lately?
Chloé: I’ve never met anyone. Everyone absolutely loves me.
(Ladybug bends down to pick up a photo of Chloe and Sabrina from the floor)
Ladybug: Really? Not even with your best friend? (hands a picture to Chloe)
Chloe: Sabrina? (drops the photo back on the ground while giggling) Impossible. She adores me, I’m her idol!
Ladybug: (sighs again before turning to André) Here is your daughter’s safe with the doors and windows locked. This enemy can be invisible, but cannot pass through walls.
Chloé: (she throws herself into Ladybug’s arms again) I’m sure you’ll make my life perfect again! Just like it was before!
(Ladybug gets off Chloé and walks away. She grabs Cat Noir’s arm when he doesn’t follow her to the elevator)
Cat Noir: Is Something Happening? You look…
Ladybug: She’s hiding something.
