Miraculous Ladybug Season 3 Episode 1 Chameleon
When Lila returns to school, she is effective in getting what she wants by manipulating both the students and the professors. Everyone, bar Adrien and Marinette, who are aware of her. Lila, who is offended, requests that Hawk Moth akumatize her after they expose her for themselves.
Now that she is Chameleon, she may adopt any appearance. She believes Ladybug is to blame for all of her problems and is determined to destroy her because she exposed her in the first place.
Ladybug and Cat Noir must keep in mind that things are rarely as they seem in order to stop her.
Internationally, this episode first premiered in Spain on the Disney Channel.
Marinette holding a croissant in her mouth when she’s late for school is a reference to a common anime trope where characters often carry toast in their mouths when they’re late for school.
This is also seen in the opening theme of each episode.
Lila is akumatized for the fourth time. However, unlike her previous akumatizations, Lila does not akumatize into Volpin, but instead into a new villain, Chameleon.
Hawk Moth tries to akumatize Marinette again, having previously attempted this in “Zombizou”.
Coincidentally, both of the villains’ “backup” forces rely on kissing their target.
Lila is akumatized voluntarily, like Gabriel in “The Collector” and Nathalie in “Catalyst”, but she is the first person to physically grasp the akumat and direct it at a designated object.
He introduces himself and tells his plan to Hawk Moth instead of the other way around.
Lila’s akumatization of Chameleon is the first time a villain does not change his appearance after being akumatized; however, this quickly changes after she uses her powers on Adrien.
Scenes from “Volpino” are reused.
This episode shows Cat Noir posing as an akumatized villain for the second time, Copycat being the first to do so.
As in “Volpina”, Hawk Moth hints that he can use Lila again for his evil plans.
Ladybug tries to destroy Chameleon’s exact copy of Cat Noir’s staff with her foot, but it splits in half the same way he did in the past.
Ladybug mistakes the object for an akumatized object, believing it to be Nino’s hat when it is actually Lila’s earring, which happened to her earlier in “Antibug” with Sabrina’s brooch.
When Ladybug saves a pedestrian from a bus, the baby in the stroller uses August’s character model.
The bus still carries an advertisement for the KIDZ+ Weather girl contest from “Stormy Weather”.
At the foot of the Eiffel Tower, a man can be seen giving a balloon to a recolored version of Manon Chamack’s character model.
Marinette and Adrien are the only people who know the truth about Lila and her lies.
Six students do not switch seats at the beginning to accommodate Lila: Adrien, Chloé, Sabrina, Mylène, Max, and Kim, all of whom except Adrien have the same seats throughout the episode.
Lila finally finishes and sits down next to Nathaniel.
The Miraculous Secrets webisode “Lila” takes place right after this episode, as Marinette is seen writing in her journal about the title character’s return to school.
Lila told several new stories that were believed/confirmed to be lies, which are listed :

Lila once saw a guy in India poke his eye out with a napkin
Her uncle taught her to play
Jagged Stone had Lila the cat rescued before he found out he was allergic.
Lila caught tinnitus as a result of rescuing the cat Jagged Stone.
Lila didn’t feel dizzy when climbing the Eiffel Tower because Ladybug put an earplug in her right ear, even though she supposedly had tinnitus in her left ear.
Ironically, her lie that Jagged Stone has a cat turns out to be true, as a flashback in “Wishmaker” shows a young Jagged chasing a cat.

Scene: Collège Françoise Dupont, courtyard.
Marinette: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait!
Scene: Miss Bustier’s classroom.
Marinette: (sees that everyone in the class is sitting next to someone except Adrien, who has a free seat next to him, much to Marinette’s excitement. She runs around the desks towards Alya) How did you do it, Alya? You’re the best. I can’t believe they all switched seats so I could sit next to Adrien. Then again, it might not be the best idea. It might prevent me from paying attention in class and if I failed it would be a total disaster because then Adrien and I would never have our own , the three kids, the hamster’s name was—
Alya: (interrupting Marinette) Hey girl, what are you talking about? You’re not sitting next to Adrien. Your seat is over there.
Marinette: In the back? Why? What’s happening?
Nino: Because he has a hearing problem, he can’t sit in the back of the class, right? Which means she needed a seat in the front.
Alya: To make it work, Ivan sat next to Mylène, Nate sat next to Alix, plus she came up with the idea of moving Nina here so now we can spend more time together.
Marinette: Who is “she”?
(Miss Bustier enters the classroom)
Miss Bustier: Good morning, students. I’m sure you’ve all heard this by now, but Lila is home from a trip to Ach and is back at school with us.
Lila: (enters the classroom) Hello everyone.
Class: Hello, Lilo.
Lila: Oh, front row seat! You all remembered my hearing problem! You are such sweethearts, all of you. (blows kisses)
Marinette: Do you have a hearing problem, Lila?
Lila: Yes, I suffer from tinnitus, a constant ringing in my left ear. I’ve had it since the sound of an airplane engine burst my eardrums on the run while rescuing a lost kitten, Jagged Stone.
Marinette: Isn’t Jagged Stone’s pet a crocodile?
Lila: I do now. But he had a kitten until he found out he was allergic to it. The best part is that since you’re such a great student, Adrien, you’ll be able to help me catch up on all the school work I missed while traveling with my parents. would you do it for me
Adrien: Sure Lila.
Marinette: Miss Bustier, why do I have to sit in the back now?
Miss Bustier: Do you have any hearing or vision problems Marinette?
Marinette: Uh, I… I…
Adrien: My sight and hearing are good. I’ll sit in the back of the classroom and you two can sit in the front. I do not mind it.
Marinette and Lila: No!
(Adrien looks at Marinette and Lila)
Lila: My return is causing so many problems, maybe I should have stayed on the other side of the world. If Marinette has a problem too, then I should go and sit in the back. It’s alright.
(The class gasped and looked at Marinette with an angry expression.)
Marinette: I don’t actually have any vision or hearing problems. I think…
Miss Bustier: Okay, so there’s no problem. Sit here, Lilo, Adrien, stay where you are, and Marinette, sit in the back row.
(Marinette and Lila walk and take their seats; Lila laughs; Marinette growls)
Scene: Hawk Moth Lair. The Hawk Moth window will open.
Hawk Moth: Ah, high school, the arena of teenage angst where emotions are so intense. The perfect stadium for my precious akumas. Being separated from your friends, becoming isolated: (turns the butterfly into an akum.) exactly what destructive rage is made of. Fly away and piss off this angry high school girl.
(Akuma flies to Paris.)
Scene: Collège Françoise Dupont. Akuma flies towards the school. Marinette is still growling at Lily’s actions. Akuma slides through the window.
Miss Bustier: (clapping her hands) Open your books to page 23.
(Marinette takes a deep breath and calms down just before the akuma reaches her; the akuma leaves, unseen.)
Scene: Hawk Moth Lair.
Hawk Moth: Strange, I can feel the fury dying down, but the wheels are in motion. It’s only a matter of time, be patient now my akuma.
Se:cen Collège Françoise Dupont, cafe. Marinette, Alya, and Nino grab their food, Lila sits at a table full of food with the rest of the class around her.
Sabrina: This is for you, Lilo!
Lila: Thank you. You are so sweet!
Max: Here’s your appetizer, Lilo!
Mylène: And I have your main course!
Kim: I’ll bring you dessert!
Lila: I’m sorry I can’t carry my own tray. With this sprained wrist, it’s almost impossible.
Kim: (reaches for a plate between Marinette and Alya) Sorry.
Marinette: Lila is totally lying. She made up the whole tinnitus story just so she could sit next to Adrien, and her sprained wrist is also completely fake.
Alya: I don’t get it, Marinette. You barely know Lila. Why all the hate?
Marinette: Okay, I’ll tell you everything. (pulls Alya and Nina to a separate table away from the others and sits across from them) Do you remember Lila when she first came to school right after summer vacation? She was only here for one day and then she left for that trip around the world. Everyone was captivated. Something just bothered me. So I followed her.
Alya and Nino: What?
Lila: (in flashback) Not only did Ladybug save my life, but we became very close friends.
Marinette: Lies with every breath.
Nino: Wait. Did you hear Lila and Adrien? That’s not great.
Alya: A good reporter always checks his sources. Can you prove that he doesn’t actually know Ladybug?
Marinette: Well I-uh… I… I… Okay! Want proof he’s lying? Hi Lila! You forgot your napkin!
(Marinette throws a napkin at Lila and she catches it with her supposedly sprained right hand.)
Marinette: Ha ha! Do you see that? You can see that he does not have a sprained wrist. (the class gasped and stared at Lila)
Lila: (drops napkin) Uh, uh! Once when I was in India, I witnessed someone cut out their eye with the corner of a napkin. If I hadn’t caught it, this napkin could have hurt Max. I had no choice. Oh!
Max: Lila, you saved my eye! You sacrificed yourself for me.
Lila: Why wouldn’t I, Max? Ouch. You are my friend.
Sabrina: We’ll take you to the nursing home.
Mylène: (to Marinette) Are you proud of yourself?
Kim: Lila is suffering even more now because of you.
Lila: No, no, don’t blame Marinette. She was just trying to give me a napkin. Okay Marinette?
(Marinette becomes enraged and storms off as everyone watches her with shocked and confused expressions.)
